Illustration Friday: Clumsy

Here's my entry for this week's Illustration Friday. The word we've been thrown is "Clumsy" and I wanted my image this week to be a quick one-night effort. The above took a couple of hours with no preparation before drawing commenced. Until I finished it just now, I had no idea how it would turn out.

The main character is Georgie, who I introduced last year and who has never been far from my mind. His canine companion has now been given the designation of Bruno, and this clumsy scene depicts my young lad dropping his ice-cream onto his pup's head.

All comments are welcome!

Love this Jim - I always find it amazing how some artists can do quality work so quickly, it takes me forever. LOVE the expression on the dog's face!

Ha! very cute, this 'grim' feel gives it quite an edge, or is it just because of the blog background!?! :P

Yeah Jazzlamb, the image is within the "white cloud" and I included a background that matched my blog's bakground - when viewed without the blog background though it does give the picture a somewhat grim make-over.

Wonderful! Too bad for the boy for losing his ice cream-- too bad for the dog because he won't be able to reach to clean it all up! I bet he'll try anyway, won't that be a funny sight!

You are right, dropped ice cream should be in the dictionary next to clumsy. We all can relate. Enjoyed seeing your variation on the shared theme.

I like the doggie. Although I do think he should have called him Sebastian :)
